What is Crimson Plugin Management System

Crimson plugin management suite was originally intended to be a simple feed management system. In response to customer and user feedback we received and a large part because of encouragement from friends the end result is a plugin management system with few builtin plugins required for hosting typical web sites. It is a product built to enable small scale businesses to move to Web 2.0 and beyond in a cost effective and scalable manner. The project composes of five modules which are the pillars of any Web2.0 business, location aware content listings, social networking, Ajax based ui asynchronous user alerts, e-Business management , feed syndication and aggregation. The project is build to run in a J2EE environment and is tested to work on j boss. Spring based dependency injection ensures the project can be rewired completely should the application be ported into a new environment. Built in templating engine provides ability to customize view templates. An advanced feed poller is capable of pulling feeds from hundreds of thousands of feeds very efficiently. An NLP (natural language processing) engine which uses GATE , a popular rule based text engineering framework analyzes the content and indexes the information based on category , location , media type etc.
